Following last year's Backbone One 2nd-gen controller announcement for iPhone 16 compatibility, the company has raised the bar with the Backbone Pro. This next-generation controller supports both Bluetooth wireless connectivity and direct USB-C connection to your device.

The wired connection promises zero latency gameplay and eliminates the need for controller charging, while wireless mode offers enhanced portability and flexibility. Notably, the Backbone Pro works with phones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, and even VR headsets.

Designed as a universal controller solution, its FlowState Technology enables seamless switching between previously paired devices. The development team reportedly dedicated significant effort to creating the smallest form factor ever that still accommodates full-sized joysticks - an impressive engineering achievement.

The controller includes customization options and remappable back buttons, complemented by the handy Backbone app. This provides access to games from Apple Arcade, Netflix, Xbox Remote Play, Steam Link, and Nvidia GeForce NOW. Backbone+ subscribers gain additional access to a free game library.
