Assassin's Creed Shadows: A Further Delay to March 20, 2025

Ubisoft has announced another delay for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing the release date back to March 20, 2025. Initially scheduled for a February 14th launch, this latest postponement aims to integrate player feedback and further refine the game's overall quality.

The initial delay, announced in September 2024, shifted the release from November 15th to February 14th, 2025. While the first delay cited unspecified reasons related to the game's development, Ubisoft now clarifies that this second delay prioritizes incorporating player feedback. Marc-Alexis Coté, Vice President and Executive Producer of the Assassin's Creed franchise, emphasized Ubisoft's commitment to delivering a superior player experience through ongoing communication and collaboration. Both delays, he stated, provide crucial time for additional refinement and polishing.

Following the September announcement, Ubisoft offered pre-order refunds and free access to the game's first expansion to appease disappointed fans. Whether similar compensation will be offered for this shorter delay remains unannounced.

This additional delay might also be connected to Ubisoft's ongoing internal investigation into its development practices, launched to improve player-centricity and address recent financial setbacks. Prioritizing player feedback in Assassin's Creed Shadows could be a direct result of this initiative.
