Creative director Jonathan Dumont has shed light on the anticipated playtime for Assassin's Creed Shadows, revealing that completing the core narrative will take players roughly 30 to 40 hours. For those eager to dive into all the optional content, an additional 30 to 40 hours can be expected, culminating in a total playtime of around 80 hours. This detailed insight was shared during an interview with journalist Genki, offering fans a clearer picture of the time commitment involved.

Initially, Dumont compared Shadows to earlier entries like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. However, given the varying lengths of these games, such comparisons were less informative. Recognizing the challenge of gauging open-world game durations, Dumont clarified that Shadows aligns more closely with the scope of Origins. According to How Long To Beat, Origins requires about 30 hours for the main campaign and can extend to 80 hours for completionists.
