Aquarion Tribe Enhanced in Polytopia, Now Thalassic Superstars!

Apr 25,25

Midjiwan has just released a significant update for The Battle of Polytopia, featuring a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe. This beloved indie game has seen its first special tribe, introduced back in 2017, get a fresh new look and gameplay mechanics.

The Aquarion Are Getting A Serious Makeover

Let’s dive into the details of their transformation. The Aquarion land units now boast mermaid tails, indicating they’re either fully aquatic or amphibious. These units can effortlessly navigate water but are a tad slower on land. A new feature, flooded terrain, allows both land and naval units to occupy the same space, a first for the game.

The update also brings aquatic buildings to the game. Players can now build structures on water, and explore Lost Cities hidden within deep-sea ruins, ideal for those who prefer to strategize from the sea. A new structure, the Atoll, serves as a bridge between water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Additionally, Aqua Crops, previously a temporary feature, are now a permanent part of the Aquarion arsenal, functioning similarly to land-based agriculture.

The update introduces exciting new sea creatures to the game. Sharks now prowl the waters, capable of launching surprise attacks. Puffers offer long-range bombardment, while Jellies can shock enemies with electric jolts. Familiar units like Tridentions and Crabs also make a return, with Crabs now able to flood the tiles they traverse, complementing the new aquatic units perfectly. Curious about the visuals?
