A new trailer for the highly anticipated TV series Alien: Earth has surfaced online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into what's to come. This latest trailer not only showcases the new Xenomorph design but also highlights how closely Alien: Earth aligns with the aesthetic of Ridley Scott's groundbreaking 1979 horror film. A scene set in a MU/TH/UR control room strikingly resembles the one aboard the Nostromo, where Ripley uncovered the terrifying truth about the crew's predicament.

In the trailer, we see a desperate crew member pleading for help as the Xenomorph closes in, while Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, coldly reports that the "specimens are loose," declares the crew dead, and sets the ship's course for Earth. The trailer then shifts to six soldiers advancing towards what appears to be the crashed ship, hinting at their inevitable confrontation with the alien threat.

The trailer raises numerous questions about the plot: Will Morrow survive? What drives him? Are there any other survivors among the crew? Has anyone been impregnated by the Xenomorph? And how will the soldiers meet their demise?

Alien: Earth sets the stage for a mysterious space vessel crashing on Earth, where a young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, and a group of tactical soldiers make a "fateful discovery" that leads them directly into the path of Earth's greatest threat.

PlayFX's *Alien* series is set in the year 2120, positioned after *Prometheus* but just two years before the events of the original *Alien* film. This timeline has led fans to speculate that *Alien: Earth* might show the Nostromo departing from Earth or reveal how the nefarious Weyland-Yutani corporation discovered the Xenomorphs. For context, the recently released interquel *Alien: Romulus* is set between *Alien* and *Aliens*.

In a January statement last year, showrunner Noah Hawley explained his decision to diverge from the backstory presented in Prometheus for Alien: Earth. Hawley, who prefers the "retro-futurism" of the original films, consulted with Ridley Scott on various elements of the Alien series, including its connections to the prequels. However, he ultimately chose to steer away from the bioweapon backstory, favoring the lore established in the original films.

Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025, with Alien: Romulus 2 also in development.
