Alan Wake and Control Universes to Fuse
Remedy Entertainment Unveils Development Updates for Upcoming Titles
Remedy Entertainment recently shared progress updates on several key projects, including the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, Control 2, and Codename Condor, in their latest financial report. These updates shed light on the development stages of each game and Remedy's overall publishing strategy.
Control 2 Nears Completion
Control 2, the highly anticipated sequel, has reached the "production readiness stage." This signifies a playable build exists, and the team is now focused on scaling production, encompassing rigorous testing, performance optimization, and quality assurance to meet established standards. Additionally, the Control Ultimate Edition, developed in partnership with Apple, is slated for release on Apple silicon Macs later this year.
Codename Condor in Active Development
Codename Condor, the Control universe multiplayer spin-off, is currently in full production. Development includes the creation of multiple maps and diverse mission types. Internal and limited external playtesting is underway to refine gameplay and gather feedback. This marks Remedy's debut in the live-service game market, with a planned "service-based fixed price" release model.
Alan Wake 2 and Max Payne Remake Progress
Alan Wake 2's Night Springs expansion has received positive critical and fan reception, and the game itself has recouped a significant portion of its development and marketing costs. A physical Deluxe Edition will launch on October 22nd, followed by a Collector's Edition in December. Pre-orders are open on the official Alan Wake website.
The Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, a co-production with Rockstar Games, has transitioned from the production readiness phase to full production. The team is working on a complete playable version, emphasizing unique gameplay features to differentiate the remake.
Future Focus on Control and Alan Wake Franchises
Remedy's future strategy centers on the Control and Alan Wake franchises. Having acquired full rights to both IPs, Remedy is exploring self-publishing and other strategic partnerships, aiming to announce further details by year's end. The company emphasizes the importance of these franchises within the Remedy Connected Universe.
Further announcements regarding the Control and Alan Wake franchises, along with continued updates on their other projects, are expected throughout the year.
