Schell Games and publisher Innersloth have confirmed that Among Us 3D will launch on May 6, 2025. The announcement came via an official post on the game's Twitter (X) account on April 16. Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to cater to a wider audience with its cross-play multiplayer feature. This week, the developers also introduced a new currency called Stardust, which offers players endless flexibility in choosing their in-game purchases.

Among Us 3D brings a host of new features to the table, including a permanent Tag Mode with an Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, an array of new and returning mini-games, and a variety of new cosmetics to personalize your character.

It's important to note that Among Us 3D is distinct from the original Among Us VR, which launched in 2022. There will be no cross-play between these two titles. Schell Games clarifies on their website's FAQs that Among Us 3D is designed to be a unique experience, stating, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."

The wishlist campaign for Among Us 3D on Steam, dubbed the Powered By Wishlists Challenge, promises exciting in-game rewards as fans reach certain milestones. Here's what you can look forward to:
