$20 Earbuds Match AirPods Pro 3 Features at a Fraction of the Price

Nov 24,25

The latest Apple AirPods Pro 3 may be among the top noise-canceling earbuds available, but $250 remains a hefty price tag—at least for my budget. Rather than waiting to add to Apple’s revenue, I chose to buy a pair of Baseus Bass BP1 Pro earbuds during Amazon’s Prime Day Sale back in July. I paid slightly more than the current price (all three colors are now $19.59 for Prime members using coupon code "X6F6U5M6"), but I was thoroughly impressed. They’re not on par with $250 earbuds, but they deliver much better audio quality than you’d expect from a $20 pair you might consider disposable.

Let’s be clear—the AirPods Pro are excellent. My wife still uses the first-generation Lightning model. Unsurprisingly, they outperform the Baseus BP1 Pro in sound, offer more effective noise cancellation, and seamlessly connect with her iPhone. Still, the BP1 Pro doesn’t fall too far behind. It’s definitely not 12 times worse.

Like the AirPods Pro, these are true wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation. Designed to fit snugly in your ear, they create a passive seal. Five eartip sizes are included for different ear sizes (I’m small but have large ears and a big head). In my view, this design alone makes them superior to the non-pro AirPods 3, which doesn’t offer any seal. Sound quality is impressive, and as the name suggests, they deliver solid bass. Noise cancellation works, though it’s not top-tier. For instance, with ANC on, ambient noise was muted but I could still hold a conversation. That said, I experience similar results with the AirPods Pro—truly powerful noise cancellation only comes with high-quality over-ear headphones. The BP1 Pro also includes a transparency mode for when you want to hear your surroundings.

As a recent release (launched earlier this year), the Baseus BP1 Pro supports the latest Bluetooth 6.0. For non-Apple users, it includes Bluetooth Multipoint, enabling simultaneous pairing with two devices. With an IP55 rating, it resists water jets and dust—better than AirPods Pro 2 (IP54) but below AirPods Pro 3 (IP57). Battery life reaches up to 12 hours without ANC (7 hours with ANC), and the charging case extends that to 55 hours (or 36 hours with ANC).

At just around $20—about the price of a burrito where I live—you’re not taking much of a risk trying these, especially with Amazon’s straightforward 30-day return policy. If you were eyeing the AirPods Pro 3 but find yourself perfectly happy with these, give yourself a pat on the back. You just saved $230.
