Plants Against Zombies features an Adventure mode and nine distinct mini-games.

[Adventure Mode]

Progress from daytime levels to more challenging nighttime stages.

At the start of each level, choose which plants to bring into battle.

Begin with two plants and two slots, with more unlocking as you progress. Unlock up to thirty different plants and ten slots.

Place a variety of plants, each with unique abilities, to stop zombies from reaching your home.

Plants require "sun" to be placed. Collect sun passively during daytime levels or generate it with specific plants.

If a zombie reaches the end of a lane, a lawnmower clears that lane. If a zombie gets through again, the game is over.

[Mini-Games]

Each mini-game consists of 8 levels.

- Light Up Stars

Fill designated spots with Starfruit to complete each level. Strategically use the available space and plant selection.

- Slot Machine

In this mini-game, a slot machine randomly assigns your plants. Survive endless waves of zombies until you collect the required sun.

- Little Zombie

The zombies in this mode are miniaturized, but they arrive in massive numbers.

You'll need to defeat more zombies than usual to succeed.

Plants are supplied via a conveyor belt on the left, with different sets for each level.

Tip: Save powerful plants like bombs for large zombie waves.

- Last Stand

Survive 3 to 5 rounds in this mode. Choose ten plants at the start; you cannot change them between rounds.

Sun-producing plants are not allowed. You begin with 3000-5000 sun and earn an extra 250 sun after each round.

- Zombie Quick

Everything in this mini-game moves at double the normal speed.

This applies to zombies, plants, projectiles, sun collection, and plant recharge rates.

- Invisible Zombies

A challenging mode where zombies are hidden until they are very close.

Plants are provided by a magic conveyor belt on the left side of the screen.

Each level features a different set of plants.

Use plants like the Ice-shroom or shooters to reveal the zombies' locations.

- Bowling

Attack zombies by rolling Trees, Palm Trees, or Tomato Bombs from behind the white line. Hitting a zombie can cause chain reactions.

- Push Pumpkin

Eat all the dots on the screen to complete the level.
