Memorable and Fun Phonics
The I Can Read program introduces Mega Mouth Decoder books and songs featuring engaging characters that help students identify and pronounce all 44 sounds in English. Each character’s name, story, and personality highlight specific target sounds in a memorable way.
Decodable Leveled Readers
Students apply new phonics skills weekly by recording themselves reading stories about Sam and his friends within the Clever Kids University: I Can Read app.
Balanced Literacy That Emphasizes Writing
Since writing supports early reading development, students draw pictures and write responses to books in Clever Kids University: I Can Read. They can also create, publish, and email their own book variations.
STEM Reading and Writing
Alongside phonics instruction, high-interest STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) books are introduced weekly to build background knowledge, comprehension, and vocabulary in Clever Kids University: I Can Read.
