Back Wars
Rule the world a thousand years ahead by traveling back in time!
An army travels back a millennium to dominate the world, only to find their primitive opponents are full of surprises. Lead a global resistance with hundreds of warriors from diverse cultures. Take direct control of a single hero or command entire armies from a strategic view. This game merges epic conquest strategy with hands-on, interactive battles for the ultimate experience. And just when you think the conflict is over, history might cycle back on itself…
UPGRADES
While the core game is free to play, upgrades let you tailor your experience—choose your faction, starting territory, and more. Unleash your creativity in fantasy battles that pit any two cultures against each other with as many units as your device can manage. You can even edit every character in the world, though be aware the game actively uses up to 1,000 characters that are regularly refreshed.
CONTROLS
When controlling an individual character, choose between the “Classic” one‑handed control scheme or “Dual Wield” for independent left/right hand control. If you’re new to the series, you can pause anytime by tapping the timeline and review the “Controls” guide. Also watch for in‑game hints from scrolls and books you discover.
Switch between team members anytime by tapping their health bar or pointing directly at them on the battlefield. Use the arrows at the screen’s bottom to enter “Commander” mode—step back and direct any ally by swiping from their position to a target. They’ll interpret your command to move, fight, or collect items, though they’ll act according to their own priorities and timing.
No matter your device or control style, you can always zoom in and out by pinching at the center of the screen.
MAP
In the main “Campaign” mode, expand your territory by moving units between connected regions. You can fortify a held region or attempt to seize a rival one. Remember, only 50% of the units in a region can travel, making invasions more challenging than defense.
Inhabited regions may grow in population after each round, so controlling more territory is key. Units also heal gradually over time, so rotating your focus between locations each turn is a smart tactic.
PERFORMANCE
Please be aware this is my most ambitious game to date and may require a high‑end device for optimal performance. To improve frame rates, try lowering the “Population” setting to reduce on‑screen characters or adjust other options in the “Display” menu.
I’ve packed more into this game than I could ever describe here, so I hope you have fun discovering its secrets on your own!
